2020 Music Festival Audition Information
Every year the Massachusetts Music Educator’s Association (MMEA) organizes a festival of ensemble performances featuring the strongest and most highly dedicated student musicians from the Northeastern region of the state.
Students sign up for an audition time, receive and practice scale and solo materials, perform for a panel of professionally acclaimed music educators, and receive an evaluation and score sheet. If that student scores high enough they are accepted in the ensemble and participate in the festival.
Festival ensembles are conducted by renowned and highly respected Music Educators. This incredible opportunity allows students to work with other musicians outside of their town, receive tutelage from industry professionals, and continue to grow as a performer and overall musician. It is really a chance to be taken full advantage of!
Please strongly consider auditioning for this opportunity. Even if you do not ultimately make it into the ensemble, the growth of musicianship and character you will experience in preparing for and attending the audition is highly rewarding and will yield countless positive results!
